Holiday Bible Club - 2008
25th – 29th August
This year's club was called 'Bible SuperHeros' and looked at real life SuperHeros recorded in the Bible and what lessons we could learn about God and our everyday lives.
The club ran from Monday 25th to Friday 29th August but at a different time from previous years.
The club ran from 6:15pm to 8:30pm and featured the usual mix of music, Bible lessons, quizzes, memory verses, worksheets and games. All of which was free of charge.
Peter Lawther, who works with the Amazing Journey Bible Exhibition and who was familiar to many children in Armagh, spoke each evening. There was also be a parents' evening and BBQ on the Friday evening.

GENERAL INFORMATION
Each
year Armagh Baptist Church seeks to reach out the children of
the area around the church with a Holiday Bible Club.
Wow – Holiday Bible Club is a real challenge! It requires
manpower, manpower and more manpower, but as a Church we are
extremely thankful to all who support in the execution of this
mammoth event.
Over
the years numbers attending have grown and so, in a bid to the
Club to operate in a controlled and safe environment, we have
had to:
• Enforce a strict age limit
• Eliminate “craft” exercises
• Provide only a snack rather than lunch
• Shorten the running time
In
2007 these changes made a great difference and allowed helpers
who had taken time off work to return in the afternoons. Almost
130 children attended regularly all week and even the weather
fitted the theme of “NOAH.”
Peter
Lawther (youth worker and “Amazing Journey” co-odinator
with Baptist Youth) held the children in rapt attention as he
presented the lessons. All who attended appreciated the full
programme.
